SOUTH OF MADAGASGAR
Day 1 Paris – Antananarivo – AF flight 06.30/22.55 Arrival at the airport welcome at 22.55 pm. Meet and greet by you Essence of Madagascar representative and then. Transfer to you hotel. Day 2 Tana - Tulear After breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight to Tulear. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel “HYPPOCAMPO” in the center of Tuléar. Depends on the flight, discovery of the city of Tuléar. Tulear is also home to an incredible mix of tribes: the Antandroy, Vezo, Masikoro and Mahafaly, with their ornamental tombs.
For a fascinating insight into the lives of these people, visit the cultural museum run by the University of Tulear. You will see rare artefacts such as masks with real human teeth and hair, black magic fetishes used by the Mikea and erotic carvings of the Menabe Sakalava.
Day 3 Tuléar - Ranohira (ISALO) After Breakfast, drive for 5 hours from Tuléar to Ranohira. Along the road, if time permits, visit of the Antsokay Arboretum which was established around 1980 on the initiative of a Swiss amateur botanist Hermann Petignat, for the purchase of several very poor land parcels consisting of calcareous marl and decalcified red sands.
The arboretum is located 12 km south-east of the city of Toliara, 2 km north of the Tropic of Capricorn and 3 km from the Mozambique Channel waters. Antsokay refers to a small nearby hamlet of limestone are found which are used to produce quicklime. The arboretum has a collection of more than 900 species of plants in southwestern Madagascar, 90% of which are endemic to the region and 80% have medicinal properties.
Among these many succulent species are recognized as endangered. More than 25 species of reptiles and mammals were identified. Day 5 Ranohira (ISALO) – Tulear – Anakao Pic nic box breakfast, early transfer to Tuléar to take the boat to Anakao. 5 hours of drive and 2 hours boat crossing. The group should be at Tulear port at least at 10.30 am. Upon arrival, welcome to Anakao and installation at ANAKAO OCEAN LODGE.
Lunch at the hotel, free afternoon to have rest or to lay on the beach. Dinner at the hotel
Day 6 Anakao –Tsimanapetsotse - Anakao Breakfast: Full day discovery of Tsimanapetsotsa national Park This park is protected on the coast of the South West and on the limestone plateau Mahafaly area.Tsimanampetsotse is dry most of the year with less rain 300mm/years. The average temperature is above 23 ° C. Tsimanampesotse Lake is a turquoise blue that turns green topaz. It literally means "lake without dolphins," an oasis in this area known to be one of the driest of Madagascar.
Possibility to see the bird “Flamants rose” according the season. Picnic lunch included on the spot. We do this excursion with 4wd. Along the road we stop at a village to visit a primary school and to meet the students and teachers. If time permits we visit the village of Ambola which is an idyllic place with a beautiful lagoon. Return to the hotel in the end of the afternoon. Overnight with dinner at ANAKAO OCEAN LODGE.
Day 7 Anakao Full day free on all inclusive at the hotel. Lunch at the hotel A lot of activities are available: quad, kite surf, wind surf, surf, diving, fishing, jet ski, excursion Nosy Ve In the evening dinner, overnight at ANAKAO OCEAN LODGE

Day 9-10 Anakao – Tulear – Tana – Paris After the breakfast, transfer by boat the city of Toliara, Transfer from port to the airport and flight back to Antananarivo according to the flight schedules Lunch in Antananarivo or Toliara Meet by our staff, transfer for a day use room at “Relais des plateaux” restaurant and hotel Dinner at restaurant with traditional Malagasy shows for farewell.
